FUJI X100V - New baby, my opinion...

It is the camera that every photographer must have.

It's history, it's charm, it's the extension of your eye, inside your pocket.

I always loved the x100, I had the first, second, third, fourth and now the fifth, the X100V.

Whenever I tell myself to stop, but then I can't resist, when the new one comes out, I change it immediately.

It is extraordinary how under this "vintage" dress there is a jewel of technology, Fuji has managed to give you that feeling, that quality in the final shot that has no equal.

Nothing makes you regret a full frame, Fuji's Xtrans, from my point of view, has been one of the most interesting technological developments of the last decade.

I have been using this camera for years, however not everything is always perfect.

You always expect improvements, Fuji has accustomed us to these things, without changing the way we use them.

For some years, despite being a "phobic" of technology, in the photographic field, I prefer not to fall in love with the instrument too much, not to continue to change the brand, I would not take more pictures, it would be so complicated every time, studying the camera again, understanding its secrets, it would take so long that, surely, once learned, there would already be a new model on the market!

So what I like and what I don't like about this X100V, what are the problems of the first version.

Needless to discuss the sensor quality, the battery viewfinder, the resolution, blah blah, you can find everything in the 100 review and test websites.

Do I speak to you as a photographer who goes from an x100F to a new x100V, my expectations?

That there are all the quality improvements, since it is updated every two years, but I don't change the way I work drastically.

Unfortunately, the X100V is not without these defects, I don't understand why Fuji's engineers, whom I consider among the best in the world, thought of changing things that I don't understand, I don't need or use.

Let's start with the 4 buttons, plus the central one, on the ring on the back.

I understand that everything is cleaner but they have removed 5 buttons that could be dedicated to the chosen quick functions.

They invented these by equipping the touchscreen, which can be oriented in one direction, where you can slide your finger in various directions and each direction corresponds to a function key.

I swear to you, the greatest idiocy I have ever seen, unusable.

This touchscreen recovery has another huge problem:

does not distinguish the fingerprint of the touch, it is equivalent that, since it frames with the left eye, if you enable the touch to the shooting function, when the nose touches the camera it clicks, if you enable the AF function, when you touch it the nose moves the fire.

result, I had to put the whole touchscreen to OFF!!!.

Sometimes the camera gives a writing error on SDHC, I use 2000x of lexar but I have also tried with Sandisk and Sony, it doesn't change.

So I hope, usually Fuji is good at this, that soon a new firmware will solve these unpleasant problems.
